BEN MINGOA
Undergraduate researcher
Microbiology
My research interests span topics within environmental microbiology and public health. Some of my current research involves wastewater epidemiology, the connection between microplastics and antibiotic resistance, and marine microbiology. I also enjoy studying how human activity impacts the environment, and have completed projects studying urbanization and microplastic pollution.
GABRIELA FRANCO
Undergraduate Researcher
Microbiology
My research interests span a wide variety of areas that are related to health and clinical science. This includes environmental and public health as well as research on diseases and pathogens.
LUZMARIA SOTO
Graduate student, water quality/eDNA
LuzMaria (Lulu), a fisheries biologist is a graduate student in the IMES program, with an interest in eDNA and water quality of San Francisco Bay.
MICHAEL HAJKOWSKI
Graduate Student - SEO scholar
Cell & Molecular Biology
Gene pathway regulation, pathology and ecology are my broad areas of interest. In the Anand Lab I am looking at emerging infectious disease pathogens in wastewater influent and making connections to public health
KATE DICK
Undergraduate researcher
Born and raised in San Francisco, Kate is passionate about conserving local resources. Her interest is in microbes in sandy beaches and their relationship with elemental cycling.
SANJIEV NAND
Graduate student - CCC scholar Cell & Molecular Biology
Jeff is interested in emerging infectious disease pathogens and their relationship with human and environmental health.
